Jerry Luckhardt is Associate Director and Director of Graduate Studies at the University of Minnesota School of Music–Twin Cities, where he conducts the Symphonic Band, Chamber Winds and Contemporary Music Ensemble. He is also a Professor of Conducting and coordinates all aspects of the undergraduate conducting curriculum.
Luckhardt has appeared as a guest conductor and clinician with ensembles throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. He has earned acclaim from composers such as Michael Colgrass, Shelley Hanson, Libby Larsen, Robert Xavier Rodriguez, Alex Shapiro and Judith Lang Zaimont for performances of their works. He is also a strong advocate for music and music education, with memberships in the College Band Directors National Association, National Band Association, National Association for Music Education, Minnesota Band Directors Association, Phi Beta Lambda, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Kappa Kappa Psi, and Tau Beta Sigma.
